Strongar ball catchers keep swinging doors closed with a hidden mechanical design that keeps the door face uncluttered. The adjustable steel ball provides controlled tension, so the doors stay where they should be without the need for visible latches. Doors open and close smoothly, and the mechanism remains quiet even after repeated use.
These adjustable drive-in ball catches are designed for millwork where precise door alignment and a low-profile look are required. They are typically used for doors that do not have a standard doorknob. The concealed body sits inside the edge of the door, while the full-lip strike plate “catches” the steel ball. This configuration helps prevent doors from drifting and reduces vibration.
Finishes, Materials, and Installation
Each ball catcher is built with a solid zinc die-cast body that maintains its shape under regular operation. The internal steel roller allows installers to fine-tune tension, ensuring the holding force is set based on door weight and hinge resistance.
The finishes are the following:

Brushed Satin - perfect for projects that use stainless or neutral hardware palettes;

Matte Black Powder Coated - great for interiors with darker accents and sharper contrasts.
The sizing - 13/16" bullet diameter (with fins) and 1-1/8" body length - fits most wood doors made for drive-in catches. The supplied 1-3/8" x 2-1/4" round-corner full-lip strike plate lines up easily and cuts down trimming time during the assembly. Installation requires some drilling and fastening. The kit includes clear instructions, making the process quick and simple.
